Registration for boys and girls ages 5-15 in Kohala for flag football will be April 13 and April 15 from 4-5 p.m at Hisaoka Gym.

Practices will start the first week of May. Registration is free and includes a uniform.

Century benefits N.H. Hospice

The Hawaii Cycling Club’s second annual Hawaii Century on April 12 will benefit the North Hawaii Hospice.

With three routes – 110 miles, 64 miles and 30 miles – the Century is an opportunity for novice and intermediate athletes as well as experienced cyclists.

The fee is $60 thereafter.

Race-day registration starts at 6 a.m., and the 110-mile begins at 6:30 a.m.; the 64-mile group starts at 7:30 a.m.; and the 30-mile route goes out 8 a.m.

Brantley Center golf benefit

The 37th annual Brantley Center Golf Tournament will be held at 7:15 a.m. April 26 at Big Island Country Club.

Entry fee is $125, which includes golf, lunch and prizes (including a $10,000 hole-in-one award). There will also be a silent auction.

The Brantley Center provides adult day programs for clients with physical, emotional or mental disabilities.

UH-Hilo clinics in Waimea

Waimea Athletics will host a free youth clinic featuring the University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball and softball programs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 26 at Waimea Park.

Players 9-14 will participate in advanced hitting, pitching-catching, batting and fielding stations.

Deadline to order optional clinic T-shirt is April 17.

Top guns

Dexter Egdamin took top honors at a BAD Company shoot at the County Trap and Skeet Range.

The top guns in the 100-target event were Egdamin (79), Dana Okazaki (77) and Steve Kaufman (75).

The next scheduled shot will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 19.

Brett Furutani aced the 15-yard second hole March 21 using an 8-iron at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.

Clair Furutani, Sheldon Furutani and Dante Estrada witnessed Furutani’s first hole-in-one.
